I had been practising with my Battle Axe for hours. It was the only thing I could do. If we didn't win Olivia would be taken from me and raised to evil. I chopped off the head of several vampyres I had round up for this. It wasn't satisfying to kill them so easily but the more practise, the more likely it would be that I would win.

I summoned up more vampyres to practise on, we had captured about fifty to study and fight. I rolled my shoulders and when one came at me I neatly beheaded him. The other caught me in a head lock and jerked on my head, exposing my throat. As my chest heaved I pulled a wooden stake from my belt and jammed it into his heart, he disappeared in a dance of flames. I wiped the blood from my lip and spat.

Two more vampyres came running towards me. I held up my hand and threw them back into several wooden stakes implanted into the wall, they disintegrated into ash with a flash of fire. I nodded and the others were returned to the dungeons. I sat on the floor that ran red with blood and placed my hand over my belly. I wished Olivia had come back, that way I knew she would be safe. I looked to the ceiling trying to control the tears that came without warning.

I weaved a spell of moonlight and magick. I wiped the tears from my eyes and went to the small nursery I had installed for Olivia. I sat in a rocking chair and held her close and began a to weave a story.
"Once upon a time a young witch walked in a wicked wild wood. Her father had often told her that the forest was disputed over by her blood and another magickal family. The fued had began so long ago no one remembered how it got started. When her father had fallen ill she and her sisters rushed home to care for him. One lovely day as her father's health was growing the witch decided to amuse herself with the magickal wood.
Tired and weary she stopped to rest her weary feet in a small pool of cool water. Just then a frog leaped onto her lap, 'this water is my land and to rest your feet in it you must pay a forfeit, one kiss.' The young witch said 'I'll nae do such a thing for you are a wee frog and have no control over me.'
At this the frog was enraged, he had always expecet fear or at least some sort of respect from the girl. He began to strike up the wind and shake the trees. The young witch just yawn, it was then he began to berate her directly so she tossed him into the pond where he landed with a large plop. When he surfaced, he was no frog, but a young dripping wet witch of great power.
'I'll have my forfiet no matter what you say.' They both began to argue and toss curses at each other, the winds howled and the trees shook. He took the young witch by the shoulders and kissed her firmly, the anger in her heart and the fury in his brest turned to love and they vowed to love each other forever. One month later the were married at the edge of the pond.
Though she is no longer young the witch often walks the woods resting her feet in a cool pond waiting for an indignent frog to join her."
Olivia had fallen asleep in my arms and I smiled, a local Welsh woman had often told me stories of how she had met her stubborn Irish husband and fallen in love. The had enchanted me for years and I wanted to pass them onto my children.

I sighed, layed Olivia in her cradle, and looked out the window, "I imagine it's been passed down from Mrs. O'Shaugnessy to many members of her family to the community. I'm not surprised that you've heard it."

"Not just from anyone Aunt Warren...from you...and Luka...you two are great," I smiled thinking of my memorys with them and Livvy. Luka was my favorite uncle and Warren my faovrite aunt. They took me for what I was and nothing more or less. They didn't mind I was a troble maker or a pain. They were just there for me.

I looked back at him with sad eyes, "I'm surprised I'm still alive in your future." I tuned and sat in the rocking chair again, "did Luka ever tell you our story?"

I cocked a brow, "you hid at my house when you got in trouble?" I smiled, "I can see Luka doing that to get back at Wyatt for decking him."

"Yea, Luka's never gotten over Wyatt punching him so hiding you at our house would seem like a fair trade." I then grew quiet, "what's Livvy like?"

"She's so cool...and pretty if I can say that," I pulled a picture of her from my wallet and handed it to Warren.
